Rhode Island Insurance Regulations

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, persons applying for insurance, employment or credit who are adversely affected by information contained in a consumer credit report:

  1. Must be given a copy of the report
  2. Must be notified that they are entitled to a free copy of the report
  3. Must sue the Reporting company for access to the report
  4. Must be offered the opportunity to apply again withing 30 days if the report is faulty
