Chad owns a Personal Auto Policy with limits of 15/30/10. Chad's son, Ken borrows the car and hits two pedestrians causing $30,000 of bodily injury and $15,000 to a parked car. What will Chad's policy pay?

  1. $40,000
  2. $30,000
  3. Nothing since Chad was not driving the car
  4. Nothing since Ken is responsible

Arizona Life & Health Exam Questions

A life insurance company will generally pay the face amount of the policy to the beneficiary of an insured who commits suicide after the policy has been in effect for how long?

  1. 3 years
  2. 2 years
  3. 1 year
  4. 6 months

Arizona Insurance Regulations

In Arizona, a lapsed policy may be reinstated:

  1. within 1 year of policy lapse
  2. up to 90 days after the grace period expires
  3. never
  4. within 3 years of policy lapse

Answer: A

The policy will pay $30,000 for BI and $10,000 for PD, $40,000 total.

Answer: B

The suicide clause states that if the insured commits suicide within 2 years after policy issuance, the policy will be voided. Once 2 years has elapsed, the company will pay the claim even if the insured commits suicide.

Answer: D 

If a policy lapses, Arizona insurance law allows the policy owner may apply to have the policy reinstated. The insured must provide evidence of insurability; and pay past-due premiums, any outstanding policy loans, and interest on the outstanding loan and past-due premiums. Reinstatement must be applied for within 3 years.
